Derwen operate an integrated business management system which is aligned with our ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditations.

Our business management system supports the Derwen team and ensures that our facility are being managed proficiently  with emphasis on the safety, quality and environmental aspects of our operations. Our business management system ensures that we are consistent in our approach and our commitment to  continual improvement. This supports us in our objective to demonstrate best practise throughout our company activities.

Green Compass

Derwen were one of the ten pathfinder companies in the pioneering of this publicly available specification (PAS) for performance. The PAS 402 was sponsored by Constructing Excellence in Wales and its development facilitated by the British Standards Institution (BSI) in consultation with waste industry stakeholders.

The PAS is focused on the performance of the waste management company and aims to provide the customer with assurance that their waste is being handled in an environmentally sound and legal manner. Derwen was one of the first companies to achieve accreditation in June 2009, and annual audits are conducted to ensure compliance.

Environmental Permits

Derwen operates under two separate environmental permits which allow us to accept and manage a plethora  of waste streams.

 

Derwen give major consideration to the safe operation of our site, all staff are fully trained in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental practise, to ensure the facility is fully compliant and that Derwen provide a safe environment for the well being of all stakeholders.
